Responsible for assisting the teacher by performing instructional tasks, preparing classroom materials, monitoring student behavior, and learning and applying the Governor's School Programs, the Virginia Department of Education's Office of Secondary Education Services works in collaboration with local school divisions, colleges and universities. Each Governor's School has a local principal who is responsible for the program's logistics. The directors of the Residential Government Summer Schools and specialists from the Virginia Department of Education join forces to manage and maintain these programs.
Cyber Patriot
is a national competition that challenges high school and high school students to identify and fix cybersecurity vulnerabilities in virtual operating systems.The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) organizes the National Summit on Safety and Security in Elementary and Secondary Schools, which brings together federal, state, and local school leaders to share practical advice on creating safe learning environments from kindergarten to twelfth grade (K-12). The Virginia Department of Housing and Community Development Broadband Office has launched a survey to collect data that will be used to create a digital opportunity plan for Virginia. In divisions that offer AYGS options, local gifted program administrators are actively involved in the Governor's School Programs. Students who take AP and IB courses are more likely to graduate from high school on time, enroll in college with higher rates, and save time and money while in college.
All schools have educational designs that include teaching in small groups, practical experiences, research, field studies or realistic or artistic productions. It is essential for families to understand how special education works so they can effectively collaborate with school staff members when making decisions about their children's educational needs. In addition to general funding sources, the school divisions from which the selected students come pay a portion of the tuition fees. Educate Fairfax is currently raising funds to buy school supply kits so all students can start the next school year with the necessary tools for success.

It is important to schedule vaccines early in the summer as seventh grade students cannot start school in August without documentation of Tdap & meningococcal vaccines & 12th grade students cannot start school without documentation of meningococcal vaccine.
In high school (level 9-12), funds will help connect innovative ideas led by students to companies such as Shark Tank or a school startup or even an innovation lab - a learning space for students to explore. Administrators play an important role in ensuring their staff members are able to participate fully in safety initiatives at Dulles schools. To help them understand their responsibilities better, there are several resources available. The Virginia Department of Education provides guidance on safety initiatives through its Office of Secondary Education Services which works with local schools divisions to ensure safety protocols are followed correctly.
